The carpal tunnel is a small opening located at the base of the wrist. The median nerve passes through this tunnel and is responsible for movement and sensation in the thumb and first three fingers of each hand. This system works extremely well until extreme pressure is put on the median nerve which then swells inside the carpal tunnel; leading to carpal tunnel syndrome.

Conditions such as pregnancy and rheumatism can lead to carpal tunnel syndrome. The symptoms are pain and swelling in the fingers, and often a shooting sensation in the hand as well. People who work on factory lines, musicians, and typists can develop carpal tunnel syndrome because of the repetitive nature of their work.

Sufferers may also notice an increasing tendency to drop objects because their ability to grip has become impaired. Their hands may become so stiff that they are unable to form fists. The symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome tend to be at their worst in the morning or evening.

There are several options available to people suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome, and these may include pain relief, injections or even surgery. However there are also natural remedies available which can help to kill the pain, and even remove the cause in some cases.

Quite a few herbs have been found to help with carpal tunnel syndrome, and these include chamomile, arnica and ginkgo. Essential oils can also help, especially when it comes to dealing with the inflammation associated with this condition. A mixture of lavender, eucalyptus and marjoram can be massaged into the affected areas such as shoulders, arms and hands, twice a day.

If you are a typist you should take preventative measures to stop carpal tunnel syndrome from developing. As well as taking frequent screen breaks to benefit your eyesight, you should also shake your hands for at least ten seconds to remove any feelings of stiffness. You can also try rotating your wrist clockwise and anti-clockwise to loosen it between typing assignments.

It is extremely important to be warm when you are seated at your workstation because cold temperatures will make you tense. Your hands should be warm enough to feel relaxed, and you may want to buy a heated wrist rest to lean on while you are working.

If you are already suffering from the condition you may want to try some vitamin and mineral supplements. Things like vitamin B6, magnesium, calcium and bromelain are all said to be effective in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome. Chamomile has anti-inflammatory properties which can help to reduce swelling, willow bark contains salicylates which work as painkillers, and ginkgo is helpful in improving blood circulation.

If in doubt you should speak to your doctor about treatment, especially if the condition worsens or carries on over a prolonged period. Prevention is preferable to cure but if you do develop carpal tunnel syndrome it is best to have it attended to sooner rather than later. Delays can only make your suffering worse and can lead to an exacerbation of the problem.

Some cases are known to have gone as far as the Orthodontist having to break the mandible bones altogether and then joining them together to better infusion. Such cases are treated accordingly, but most are not that severe.
More people have incorrect alignment and position of teeth than you may realize. It is not always hereditary or a childhood problem accidents may also affect the structure of your jaws, making what was fine before, not be so anymore. Allergy – How can be treated?
Allergy is an abnormal reaction of the immune system. When you have allergy tp something it means that substance is harmful for your body. Allergy is hereditary (it is passed on through genes). Antihistamines – It is an years old treatment used for allergy. It can be taken as pills, liquid, eye drops, or nasal spray.

Decongestants – It is prescribed for congestion It is available in the form of pills, eye drops, liquid and nasal spray. Nasal spray and eye drops can not be used for long.

Steroids – They are highly effective for allergies. It is used to treat nasal stuffiness, sneezing, itching, running nose. It reduces inflammation associated with allergies. They are available in the form of pills, inhalers, nasal sprays, creams and eye drops.

Bronchodilators –It is used for the treatment of Asthama i.e. to get quick relief from asthama.

Mast Cell Stabilizers – It is used as a mild treatment to prevent asthama symptoms. It is used to moderate inflammation in bronchial tubes and other allergy symptoms. They are available in the form of inhalers, eye drops, nasal sprays
Side effects:

Leukotriene Modifiers – It is used to treat asthma and nasal allergy symptoms. They are available in the form of Chewable tablets, pills, and oral granules.
Side effects:

Immunotherapy – Immunotherapy or Allergy shots are also available to treat allergy. It gradually increases the ability to tolerate allergens. It can be effective if you are suffering from allergy more than three months of the year. Allergy shots help to build the immune system tolerance. It is recommended only for specific allergies. It can’t be used to treat food allergy. Allergy shots are given weekly or twice a week until maximum dose can be tolerated.
