The basics of carrying out dental implants have changed rapidly over the past couple of years. This is because new
material and technique have been developed and they can really enhance the ability of replacing tissues that are
missing with those that look natural and function well. The use of replacing such tissue using prostheses is also
known as dental implant.
WHY IS VERY DIFFICULT TO WEAR A COMPLETE DENTURE FOR THE LOWER TEETH?
Both the lower and upper dentures are kept fast in your mouth by a fit of plastic base that is so close to the base
of the gums. This close relationship is derived when the control of the muscles and the principle of suction are
applied. It is however difficult to master the way the lower dentures function that learning how to use the upper
set of dentures.
When comparing both sets of dentures, the lower set has tissues that are not so stable. This is the direct opposite
of what happens with the upper sets. The lower sets is able to hold fast to the mouth because the denture is capable
of controlling the tongue and can hold the teeth in place while an individual is speaking or eating. Hence, if the
lower set of dentures cannot effectively control the tongue, the patient would have problems wearing a lower set
complete teeth.
LOSS OF BONE AND TOTAL DENTURES
For a whole number of reason, dentures might be removed from the mouth. After the removal of the dentures,
the bone that resides therein and used for supporting the dentures begins to shrink very fast over the initial year.
This happens because your body understand the fact that that bone is not useful again and hence, useless. A major
percentage of shrinkage happens over the initial year following denture removal. Studies have proved that wearing
sets of dentures often expedites the rate at which the jawbone shrinks.
Since every denture is unique, the surface of a denture has to readapt to the tissues of the gum. This process is
also known as reline.
LOWER SET OF FULL DENTURES AND DENTURE IMPLANTS
Some people can never adapt to the everyday function of the teeth using complete dental arrangement.
A majority of these people don’t posses the enough amount of bone used for stabilizing the lower set; while
other are not able to develop coordination for the muscle in a bid to learn how to eat using these dentures.
Over a number of years, dentistry cannot offer individuals any more than adhesives used for dentures.
Nowadays, the same issues can be solved with the aid of dental implants. Even if the implant are just for
a couple of dentures, the stability and retention of the lower set of teeth would greatly increase after such
implants. As a matter of fact, the ability to chew with such dentures would also increase. Some people have
said that they gain back about seventy percent of their real ability to chew.
